Due to circumstances beyond the control of Acorns Children's Hospice, the Hollyoaks vs Emmerdale celebrity football match 2008 scheduled to take place at Halesowen Town FC this Sunday August 17 has been cancelled.

Acorns Children's Hospice has today been advised of filming commitments for the Hollyoaks cast, which now precludes them from participating in the celebrity football match.

This is hugely disappointing to us who as a children‘s hospice rely on fundraising activities such as this celebrity football match to generate income to care for life limited children.

It was hoped the match would have raised up to £20,000, which would have paid for more than a month’s vitally-needed hospice care for local life limited children.

Acorns Children's Hospice understands that many ticket holders will be very disappointed, as we ourselves are.  Acorns will of course honour a full refund to them.  It remains the fact that our children and families still need support, and if any ticket holders would like to donate the cost of their ticket towards that care, it would be greatly appreciated by Acorns.
